ABOUT THE EXHIBITION 323 Projects is pleased to present More Cinematic Artforum Reviews of Joe Sola’s Work by Joe Sola. For this exhibition Sola hired a professional voiceover artist to read Artforum Magazine reviews of his past work. When combined with strange soundtracks, the resulting works resemble the audio structure of film trailers for big-budget blockbuster movies, while engaging questions of appropriation, authorship, connections between Hollywood and Visual Culture. With this new work Sola inverts art’s conventional relationship to its critical reception, presenting text surrounding the art’s production as art itself. Additional information about the exhibition, as well as new video work is available at 323projects.com. This project received support from The Durfee Foundation.
323 Projects invites you to hear More Cinematic Artforum Reviews of Joe Sola's Work by calling (323) 843-4652 or (323) TIE-IN-LA. The show is open all day and all night, every day of the week.
